WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:
We are currently seeking a professional, innovative, and enthusiastic Executive Director for our South Puget Sound and Olympics Chapter (SPSO). Our office is in University Place, but this position deeply supports the communities of Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason Pierce, and Thurston. This position is an external-facing role focusing on community relations/capacity building (focused on areas requiring more resiliency), fundraising, and board leadership. This candidate must be comfortable being the face of the Red Cross in the SPSO geography. This position supports region-partnered mission initiatives by providing facilitative leadership to local teams and updating regional leadership on the community's needs, assets and perceptions. The Executive Director will also be responsible for strengthening relationships with our community partners by educating them on the programs and opportunities the American Red Cross offers and finding opportunities to partner more deeply.This position reports to the Regional Executive, serves as the primary liaison to the community, and is supported by Community Volunteer Leaders and the Chapter Board.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Management Experience: NA
Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team.
Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state, and Red Cross system.
*Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
