Summary MGR Biomedical Engineering Position Highlights: The Manager, Biomedical Engineering is responsible for leading the preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all medical and research equipment technology. The role partners with leaders across the organization (both operations and shared services) to drive and support the identification of strategic and operational opportunities related to the security, engineering, and services for clinical and research biomedical technology. Additionally, they have the responsibility to carry out major plans and procedures which includes medical equipment, emerging technology, and device standardization. This role works closely with key customers, Purchasing, and the IT Business Office to negotiate and conduct legal review of large service agreements. Additionally, the manager is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing a team of highly skilled professionals as well as supporting organizational leadership and staff in the maturing of Moffit's capabilities related to the use of medical equipment to drive positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities: Evaluate and analyze Service Contract costs and how they compare to time and material activity, Insurance, or at-Risk options. Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all assets are in compliance with regulatory standards. Coaching and mentoring of Team members as well as Leadership in tools and techniques to advance projects. Accelerate team efficiency by improving processes and workflows cross-functional teams. Drive professional development for team members, identifying key opportunities for growth and skill development to support the team vision. Stay up to date with the latest design and healthcare technology trends to understand how to implement into the organization. Create and track proposed annual budget for appropriate cost centers. Build relationships with cross-functional team members and executives across organizations - to align on priorities, navigate dependencies, align on priorities, and shape goals while representing the user and what's best for the organizational community as well as and effectively speaking to process and team vision. Lead and represent a team internally and externally effectively, substantiate the work and the decisions behind them, and be an advocate for user-centered design. Partner with key stakeholders, project & product management and IT to articulate functional requirements to ensure achievable and appropriately scoped and prioritized efforts. Collaborate on teams to evaluate emerging technology and third-party vendors supporting various technologies aligned with the strategic imperatives of the organization. Navigate Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word. Project management software. Credentials and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required: Field of study: Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field Minimum 10 years in IT, BioMed, or healthcare operations. Minimum 5 years directly involved in Clinical or BioMedical engineering Minimum 3 years direct supervisory experience as a Manager, Supervisor, or Team Lead in a Clinical/BioMed Capacity.
